This week in LUUML borrows.
1. lovesexy, because prince. I have found 4 prince albums so far. This the second best one of those. (the other three are, in order fave->less fave : Sign “O” the times, around the world in a day, Love symbol)
2. Done by the Forces of Nature by Jungle Brothers. Class golden era hip hop. Someone borrowed black sheeps first album during my shift after i mentioned it to them so it’s made me check out other native tongues stuff. I’m listening to it now and it’s proper mint.
3. Bangles - Different light. Solid pop record. Bangles are class. gonna get their debut next week and see if i can find anything else by them. I might donate my walk like an egyptian maxi single to the UML too (it’s got a really bizarre “dub” mix on it).
GONNA MAKE THIS A SERIES. proper blogging?
Patxi didn’t get thrash out this week.
check out this 80’s thrash triumvirate I’ve borrowed from the LUUML. I can relive my teenage thrash years as if I was a genuine 80’s thrash kid.
I’ve also curated a “patxi’s pix” (sic) vinyl section which at the moment consists of all the 80’s thrash and prince albums i could find (8 thrash, 4 prince), the lexicon of love by ABC, the strawberry switchblade s/t and 2 bangles albums.
the UML is holding a pub quiz tonight in Old Bar (in the university union). Cracking prizes, cracking people, (varsity sucks), come and have a laugh it all kicks off at 8.
Glad to be back at Uni because primarily, I’ve missed my beloved Music Library. Just the best place ever.
